About the Role
You will build and lead a Detection and Response function with 24/7 operational coverage. You will establish threat management, incident response, automation, threat hunting, reporting, on-call, post-incident review, and security program practices while managing priorities and developing engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of security experience
- 5+ years leading technical teams
- Ability to build security programs, processes, technical frameworks, and cross-functional partnerships
- Experience building automation-first security programs
- Understanding of security requirements for a cloud infrastructure provider
- Experience with security response and executive communications
- Experience working in high-ambiguity environments
Responsibilities
- Build, hire, and lead a Detection and Response team
- Define team processes, culture, operating rhythms, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Conduct one-on-ones, provide feedback, and create career development paths
- Define and implement threat management frameworks, threat hunting, detection, and automation standards
- Architect incident response processes, escalation frameworks, and triage protocols
- Guide security technology choices and AI-powered detection capabilities
- Create data-driven insights to guide preventative-control investments
- Partner with Product and Platform engineering teams
- Lead cross-functional collaboration during critical events
- Establish executive reporting and lead blameless post-incident reviews
- Define on-call rotations, operational procedures, and a six-month strategic roadmap
