About the Role
You will lead the conversion of electric trucks into integrated autonomous vehicles and scale assembly from low-volume builds to commercial production. You will manage technicians, optimize manufacturing processes, build quality and data systems, coordinate production partners, and improve safety, delivery, cost, and throughput.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline
- 7+ years of progressive assembly, production, manufacturing engineering, or advanced manufacturing experience
- 3+ years leading manufacturing or technician teams
- Experience scaling assembly or manufacturing operations from low-volume production to commercial scale
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring harnesses, sensors, compute hardware, and electromechanical systems
- Knowledge of assembly process design, line balancing, manufacturing layout, tooling, material flow, and capacity planning
- Experience with ERP/MRP production processes
- Experience implementing or operating MES and manufacturing quality data systems
- Experience implementing and sustaining ISO 9001-compliant processes
- Experience recruiting, leading, coaching, and developing technician and production teams
- Ability to travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Own the conversion of base electric trucks into integrated autonomous vehicles
- Develop and execute the assembly roadmap for commercial-scale production
- Lead daily assembly operations and vehicle assembly technicians
- Optimize process flow, line layouts, tooling, staffing, capacity, and manufacturing footprint
- Establish standard work, training, inspection criteria, production controls, and build documentation
- Develop manufacturing strategies with OEM and contract manufacturing partners
- Manage safety, quality, delivery, cost, throughput, yield, rework, and labor-efficiency KPIs
- Build quality through process controls, inspections, measurement systems, and end-of-line acceptance
- Deploy MES and manufacturing data systems
- Improve ERP/MRP, inventory management, material planning, and production control
- Maintain vehicle configuration, inspection, test, and non-conformance records
- Develop transferable manufacturing processes and documentation for external partners
- Manage assembly-related vehicle repairs and modifications
