About the Role
You will design and build the backend systems that power OMSX and the Polygon Open Money Stack. You will implement high-throughput Go services, build and maintain APIs that integrate internal and external financial systems, and optimize data models and queries for large datasets. You will make performance and caching improvements, add observability through logging and metrics, participate in architectural discussions, and collaborate with frontend and platform teams to deliver a reliable developer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years working with Go in production
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and APIs
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query optimization and working with large datasets
- Experience with caching strategies and systems such as Redis
- Proven ability to build systems from scratch and operate independently
- Solid understanding of system design, data flows, and service-to-service integrations
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Go services for high-throughput financial workloads

- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and data models for high-scale production environments

- Participate in architectural discussions and make informed trade-offs across system design decisions
