About the Role
Investigate fraud alerts and incidents, monitor anomalous activity, perform root cause analysis, analyze behavioral patterns with SQL and scripting, contribute to machine learning and detection systems, triage escalations, and take remediation actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience investigating and resolving fraud incidents
- 3+ years of experience working with data and proficiency in SQL
- Programming experience in a high-level language such as Python
- Ability to analyze data and make impactful decisions in ambiguous environments
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong business judgment and communication skills
- Availability during heightened-risk periods, including weekends and holidays
- Availability to start within two weeks following an offer
Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time events and transactions flagged for fraud and abuse
- Manually review and investigate fraud alerts using fraud subject matter expertise
- Lead root cause analysis to identify fraud prevention and mitigation opportunities
- Investigate individual events using internal policies and review methodologies
- Analyze behavioral patterns using SQL, data scripting, and visualization tools
- Research fraud and user behavior to inform machine learning models and detection rules
- Triage and forensically investigate fraud escalations
- Ensure high-quality investigation processes and take decisive remediation actions
