About the Role

You will develop reliable, safety-focused embedded software for robotic subsystems. You will integrate sensors, actuators, and communication modules; write and debug firmware; implement communication protocols and low-level drivers; test and troubleshoot hardware; optimize system performance; document architecture and test results; and own components through deployment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional embedded software or firmware development experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in C and C++ and experience using Python for testing or tooling
  • Understanding of embedded systems architecture and hardware-software interfaces
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Experience with EtherNet, EtherCAT, CAN, SPI, UART, or I2C
  • Experience integrating sensors, actuators, and motor control systems
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software for robotic systems with hard real-time performance, reliability, and safety
  • Integrate and optimize sensors, actuators, and communication modules
  • Analyze implementation paths and trade-offs
  • Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, ASICs, and SoCs
  • Implement and manage EtherCAT, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C protocols
  • Integrate systems with mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot embedded systems
  • Optimize performance and efficiency within system constraints
  • Develop low-level drivers and interfaces for sensors, motors, and control electronics
  • Maintain architecture, code, and test documentation
  • Own embedded software components through deployment
