About the Role
You will support the selection, characterization, calibration, and integration of navigation and localization sensors. You will work across electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines; execute sensor testing; develop calibration tools; document integration requirements; and debug hardware, firmware, and software issues.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 1-4 years of relevant experience or strong cross-functional internship or project experience
- Ability to work across at least two of electrical, mechanical, and software domains
- Understanding of sensor measurement principles and error sources
- Ability to read electrical schematics or mechanical drawings
- Basic scripting or programming proficiency for data analysis
- Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN communication protocols
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and sensor testing
- Ability to communicate effectively across engineering disciplines
Responsibilities
- Support sensor integration from specification through production
- Develop and execute sensor characterization and calibration procedures
- Contribute to sensor trade studies and selection processes
- Collaborate on electrical interfaces, mounting, thermal and vibration considerations, and software interfaces
- Participate in cross-disciplinary design reviews
- Develop and execute sensor performance test plans
- Document sensor characteristics, trade studies, and integration requirements
- Develop or modify calibration scripts and data processing tools
- Support calibration procedures and tooling
- Debug issues across hardware, firmware, and software
- Review and contribute to schematics, CAD models, and code
