About the Role
You will design and develop space-qualified electronics and oversee PCB design. You will author technical documentation, conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting, oversee hardware qualification testing, review payload designs, support proposals, and maintain traceability controls for electrical hardware and test equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 4–7 years of experience in space electrical design and development or harsh environments
- 7+ years of total experience including space-industry experience
- Extensive Space Hardware industry experience
- Experience maintaining traceability controls for electrical components, systems, lab tools, and test equipment
- U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain required export authorizations
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of space-qualified electronics
- Oversee PCB schematic layout, routing, symbols, footprints, fabrication files, and assembly drawings
- Author assembly instructions, test procedures, interface requirements, and test reports
- Use electrical test equipment for development and troubleshooting
- Perform or oversee qualification and acceptance testing of safety-critical flight hardware
- Review payload designs for compatibility and compliance with Voyager and NASA requirements
- Support proposals with technical approaches, solutions, and cost and schedule estimates
- Deliver status reports and maintain electrical-component traceability controls
