About the Role
You will design and optimize detections, playbooks, and workflows for security incidents. You will lead complex investigations and coordinated response, including on-call responsibilities. You will build reliable security automation and capabilities as code, turn incident findings into durable improvements, maintain runbooks, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in detection engineering, incident response, or security engineering
- Proficiency in Python and query languages such as SQL
- Knowledge of detection and response across cloud, identity, and endpoint environments
- Experience leading complex investigations and improving detection and response based on attacker behavior
- Experience building and operating production security tooling and automation
- Knowledge of operating systems, networking, log analysis, and distributed-system troubleshooting
- Written communication skills, technical direction, documentation, and mentoring ability
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimization of detections, playbooks, and workflows for potential incidents
- Lead investigations and coordinated response for complex security events, including on-call responsibilities
- Own key areas of the detection and response program and provide technical leadership
- Build automation and integrations that reduce investigation and response effort
- Build and maintain detection and response capabilities as code
- Translate incident findings and attacker behavior into durable detection and response improvements
- Maintain runbooks and technical documentation
- Mentor engineers in detection and response practices
