About the Role
You will design and operate scalable GCP infrastructure and data platform services. You will build Terraform configurations and CI/CD pipelines, manage IAM and security controls, lead incident response, maintain internal developer platform resources, support engineering teams, and use AI-assisted tools in your daily workflow.
Requirements
- 4+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience
- Hands-on experience designing and administering complex GCP platforms
- Knowledge of VPC VPCSC Direct Connect and IaaS or PaaS architecture
- Production-scale experience with BigQuery Dataflow Dataproc Cloud Storage and Pub/Sub
- Hands-on Terraform experience across multiple environments and cloud providers
- Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud IAM access control and least-privilege security
- Experience working with data or ML engineering teams as a platform provider
- Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and influence outcomes
- AWS exposure is a bonus
- Backstage experience is a bonus
- Familiarity with medallion architecture lakehouse patterns Airflow or dbt is a bonus
- Databricks experience is a bonus
- Professional experience with AI coding assistants is a bonus
- Regulated financial services experience is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Design scalable cloud infrastructure
- Develop infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Operate GCP data platform services
- Support IAM and service account design
- Enforce least-privilege security principles
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis
- Participate in the platform on-call rota
- Maintain the internal developer platform catalog and templates
- Keep TechDocs accurate
- Onboard data and ML services into the catalog
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools for infrastructure authoring code review and documentation
- Share effective AI engineering patterns with the team
