About the Role

Zerion is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and evolve backend systems supporting its products and customer-facing solutions. The role combines distributed systems design, Web3 platform development, customer collaboration, product influence, operational ownership, and AI-assisted engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience with Sentry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with Python 3.
• Daily practical use of AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Strong ownership, communication, product thinking, and pragmatic decision-making skills.
• Ability to work directly with customers and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable distributed backend systems.
• Own backend services end-to-end, including architecture, implementation, monitoring, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape product decisions.
• Scope API solutions with clients and turn vague requests into concrete proposals and implementation plans.
• Build Web3 backend components, protocol integrations, blockchain network support, and smart contract interactions.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, security, and observability.
• Use AI throughout the engineering workflow for design, review, debugging, and delivery.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and engineering mentorship.
