About the Role
You will design, synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical compounds using modern analytical methods. You will optimize reactions, support parallel chemistry experiments, analyze biological and ADME-PK data, use machine-learning insights, and present findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- BS in chemistry with 5+ years of pharma or biotech experience, or MS in chemistry with 3+ years of pharma or biotech experience
- Skills in multi-step organic synthesis, reaction optimization, SAR analysis, and scientific presentation
- Availability to work onsite in San Diego
Responsibilities
- Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical compounds at 10 mg to 5 g scale
- Use LCMS, HPLC, and NMR for compound analysis
- Identify and optimize reaction conditions using screening kits and streamlined methods
- Collaborate on parallel chemistry and high-throughput experimentation
- Analyze biological and ADME-PK data using cheminformatics tools
- Partner with computational chemists to use machine-learning insights in design–make–test cycles
- Present data, implications, and recommendations to project teams and senior leadership
