About the Role
Own the modeling layer between raw data and business decisions by building trusted datasets, defining metrics, improving warehouse performance, maintaining self-service dashboards, translating stakeholder questions into durable models, and implementing data quality tests and documentation.
Requirements
- 7+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a similar role
- Production experience owning a modeling layer
- Expert SQL
- Experience with dbt or equivalent
- Experience with Airflow or other orchestration solutions
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse
- Dimensional modeling and metric design skills
- Fluency with Hex, Looker, or similar BI tools
- Software engineering fundamentals and version control experience
- Experience in a fast-moving environment
Responsibilities
- Design and build dbt models from platform, trading, and third-party data
- Define core metrics including volume, traders, retention, acquisition cost, and revenue
- Partner on warehouse materialized views, incremental models, performance, and cost
- Build and maintain Vercel and Hex reporting
- Translate stakeholder questions into durable models
- Write model-layer tests and monitoring
- Model new products and market types
- Write end-to-end documentation
