About the Role
You will serve as a technical advisor on state AI policy and governance. You will assess frontier and generative AI risks, respond to leadership requests, coordinate AI governance efforts, consult external experts, and support responsible AI adoption and cybersecurity work.
Requirements
- Graduate degree and subject matter expertise in AI policy and governance, or multiple years of specialized experience
- Availability to serve full-time for at least one year
- Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States
Responsibilities
- Respond to leadership requests for frontier and generative AI risk assessment, analysis, evaluation, and advice
- Coordinate with AI governance teams across internal offices and divisions
- Support AI adoption, governance, safety, risk assessment, security, and execution activities
- Solicit information and ideas from public, academic, private, federal, tribal, community, foundation, and nonprofit experts
- Identify emerging AI adoption and governance opportunities and challenges
- Support responsible and ethical AI use to modernize government service delivery
- Identify and address AI-related cybersecurity risks to critical infrastructure and state networks
