About the Role
You will prepare and document journal entries, optimize close processes, and produce financial statements. You will improve internal reporting and accounting policies, support the annual audit and tax-documentation requests, complete reserve reporting, and perform financial analysis and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Communication and collaboration skills
- CPA preferred
- Experience with a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or regulated financial-services organization preferred
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and document journal entries under GAAP and company policies
- Own and optimize monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare balance-sheet reconciliations and support process automation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Enhance internal financial reporting and reporting-distribution processes
- Prepare audit documentation and respond to auditor requests
- Coordinate tax documentation and information requests with the parent company
- Support weekly reserve computations and reporting
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects
