About the Role

You will help build a threat-modeling program, support governance, risk, and compliance work, and secure cloud and on-premise systems. You will investigate network and security issues, automate tasks with scripts, test for vulnerabilities in a lab environment, and recommend patches.

Requirements

  • Have two years of hands-on experience in networking, security, or computer science and be enrolled in a Nevada higher education institution or trade school or certification program, or have completed at least two years of college or trade school in Nevada toward a relevant degree or certificate
  • Demonstrate motivation to learn and achieve goals
  • Understand networking and write a basic script or program
  • Have hands-on experience with labs, network simulators, coding sites, or cybersecurity capture-the-flag platforms
  • Demonstrate teamwork
  • Have authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Help build a threat-modeling program
  • Support risk management, audit, and governance activities
  • Secure cloud and on-premise systems
  • Investigate root causes of network issues and security vulnerabilities
  • Write Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar automation code
  • Use security tools in a lab environment to identify vulnerabilities and recommend patches
