About the Role
You will diagnose complex multidisciplinary automation failures, develop and validate permanent engineering solutions, and improve the reliability of deployed robotic systems. You will analyze performance trends, provide remote escalation support, standardize configurations, maintain documentation, mentor field staff, and ensure safety compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related engineering discipline
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing automation or industrial robotics
- PLC, robot, and industrial control system programming
- Knowledge of robotic systems, motion systems, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-system failures
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience in uptime-critical manufacturing environments
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures
- Design and implement preventative and predictive reliability strategies
- Lead system-level hardware and software improvement initiatives
- Analyze production and diagnostic data
- Provide remote support and triage service tickets
- Standardize equipment configurations with cross-functional partners
- Maintain procedures, maintenance logs, and change-control records
- Serve as an escalation point for complex fleet issues
- Mentor field technicians and engineers
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry requirements
- Collaborate with vendors to improve parts availability and technical support
