About the Role
You will define in vitro strategies and screening cascades, develop biophysical, biochemical, and cellular assays, and interpret pharmacology data. You will coordinate CRO studies, produce technical documentation, and connect computational predictions with experimental validation. Some positions include mentoring and line management responsibilities.
Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biophysics, or a related scientific discipline
- 5+ or 8+ years of Translational Sciences experience in biotech, pharma, or a CRO
- Drug-discovery project leadership experience
- Experience designing and implementing biological screening cascades
- Deep knowledge of in vitro pharmacology techniques
- Experience working with CROs
- Ability to provide technical guidance in matrixed organizations
- Effective interdisciplinary communication
Responsibilities
- Design biological screening cascades for internal and partnered drug-design programs
- Guide the optimization and implementation of biophysical and biochemical assays
- Direct the development and refinement of functional and phenotypic cellular assays
- Work with CROs to design decision-making experiments and deliver biological data
- Evaluate binding, kinetic, and dose-response data
- Generate technical documentation supporting strategic decisions and IND-enabling data packages
- Translate computational predictions into testable hypotheses
- Guide SAR-driven design cycles with potency and selectivity data
- Align biophysical data with structural insights
- Support handoff of validated leads into in vivo and translational studies
- Line manage and mentor In Vitro and Cellular Pharmacologists when applicable
