About the Role
You will build and operate teleoperation systems for dexterous manipulation, including retargeting algorithms that map human hand and arm movements to robot end-effectors. You will design scalable data-collection hardware and software, benchmark control approaches, support physical robots, and collaborate on data quality needs.
Requirements
- MSc or equivalent in progress in robotics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field
- Thesis or capstone project on manipulation, teleoperation, or retargeting
- Hands-on experience building a robot-learning data-collection device or system
- Working knowledge of retargeting algorithms for robot hands or end-effectors
- 1 to 2 years of combined research, internship, or industry experience in robotics, mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
- Software and systems engineering skills to build and maintain shared infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Build and operate teleoperation systems for dexterous manipulation
- Develop retargeting algorithms that map human motion to robot end-effectors
- Design and maintain scalable data-collection hardware and software
- Benchmark control and retargeting approaches using rigorous human-factors-informed methodology
- Instrument and support physical robots and the control stack
- Collaborate with the model-training team to define data needs and improve data quality
- Build tooling and infrastructure that unblocks the wider team
Benefits
- Free meals at the workplace
- Flexible working hours
- Option to work from home when needed
- Access to large-scale compute clusters and proprietary robotic datasets
- Relocation package for the Zurich area
