About the Role

You will teach robots manipulation capabilities through behaviour cloning and reinforcement learning. You will improve training data, develop digital-twin RL workflows, support data collection, extend observation and action spaces, improve teleoperation and motion smoothness, and provide hardware feedback for future designs.

Requirements

• 3+ years working on robots with shipped artifacts
• Knowledge of teleoperation and low-level control stacks
• Neural network post-training experience
• Deep learning infrastructure, including streaming datasets, checkpointing, state management, and distributed training
• PyTorch or JAX
• Numerical profiling and debugging
• Software engineering practices
• Experiment documentation
• Experience training VLA manipulation models is preferred
• Robotics reinforcement learning experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Post-train manipulation policies using behaviour cloning and reinforcement learning
• Own the loop from data to deployment
• Develop data preprocessing strategies
• Set up RL training with digital twins and improve rewards and simulation quality
• Drive data collection requirements for specific capabilities
• Expand observation and action spaces for new capabilities
• Work with teleoperation and controls teams to improve motion smoothness and teleoperation
• Provide hardware-design feedback based on manipulation findings
