About the Role
You will perform research and development in electromagnetic-transient simulation, grid modeling, and power-electronics resources. You will develop large-scale simulation algorithms, integrate component models into open-source tools, create use cases, publish scientific work, and present results to sponsors and at conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in electrical engineering or a related field
- At least two years of post-PhD experience
- Expertise in power systems and power electronics
- Experience with C/C++, Matlab, and Python
- Experience with power-systems software such as PSCAD and PSS/E
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal PIV card and complete required background screening
Responsibilities
- Develop electromagnetic-transient models for bulk power systems, synchronous generators, and large loads
- Develop algorithms for large-scale simulations
- Integrate and co-simulate grid component models in open-source software tools
- Develop applications and use cases for electromagnetic-transient simulations
- Prepare scientific publications and present work to sponsors and conferences
