About the Role
You will provide perinatal nutrition and lactation care for patients through pregnancy and postpartum in a 100% virtual setting. You will conduct 1:1 and group visits by video, phone, and app, manage nutrition care including gestational diabetes and Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in pregnancy, and teach group lactation support classes. You will build and maintain nutrition and lactation protocols and safety measures for telemedicine, create app-based patient content, and obtain additional state dietitian licenses over time. As the team grows, you will help support and guide other Registered Dietitians and Lactation Consultants.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Active International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Licensed to practice as a dietitian in at least three of: Maryland, Nevada, Illinois, Texas
- Willing to obtain additional state licenses
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Two or more years providing pregnancy-related nutrition care, including management of gestational diabetes and Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
- CDCES certification or clinical experience to be CDCES-eligible (preferred)
- One or more years of experience practicing as an IBCLC in the prenatal and postpartum setting
- Previous experience providing virtual patient care
- Private location with reliable high-speed internet suitable for patient visits
- Comfort working by video, phone, text, and app-based tools
Responsibilities
- Provide perinatal nutrition and lactation care for pregnancy and postpartum
- Provide 1:1 and group dietitian and lactation visits by video, phone, and app
- Manage nutrition care for pregnancy and postpartum including gestational diabetes and Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in pregnancy
- Teach and lead group lactation support and education classes
- Create breastfeeding and chestfeeding protocols and safety measures for a telemedicine platform
- Build and maintain nutrition and lactation protocols and safety measures for virtual care
- Update protocols and procedures to keep care safe and effective
- Create app-based patient content that supports learning and success
- Obtain additional state dietitian licenses to support patients as Delfina expands into new states
- Support and guide other Registered Dietitians and Lactation Consultants as the team grows
