About the Role
You will conduct empirical research on AI’s economic effects, build regional partnerships, and contribute to the Economic Index. You will develop measurement methods, analyze labor markets and productivity, translate findings into policy recommendations, and communicate results through publications, briefs, and presentations.
Requirements
- PhD in Economics
- Track record of empirical research using novel data sources and economic theory
- Experience with causal inference and machine learning methods
- Experience working in the region and relevant regional relationships
- Labor-market analysis knowledge
- Large-scale data analysis and econometrics knowledge
- Policy-relevant economic research experience
- Experimental or quasi-experimental methods knowledge
- Macroeconomic modeling and time-series forecasting knowledge
- Python, R, SQL, or similar large-scale data-analysis tools
- Experience leading research projects from conception to publication
- Ability to communicate technical findings to diverse audiences
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with academic institutions, policy think tanks, and research partners
- Advance regional economic-impact research collaborations
- Translate research insights into policy recommendations
- Contribute to the Anthropic Economic Index
- Design empirical research on AI’s economic effects
- Develop methods for studying labor markets, productivity, inequality, and economic trajectories
- Improve measurement infrastructure and data collection
- Publish research and deliver policy briefs and presentations
