About the Role

You will research AI's economic effects in your region, develop regionally relevant Economic Index analyses, and turn findings into policy recommendations. You will work with research partners, develop empirical methods, improve measurement systems, and communicate results through publications, briefs, and presentations.

Requirements

• PhD in Economics
• Empirical research experience using novel data sources, economic theory, causal inference, or machine learning
• Relevant regional experience and relationships
• Labor-market analysis
• Econometric methods
• Large-scale data analysis
• Large language model research
• Macroeconomic modeling
• Time-series forecasting
• Python, R, SQL, or similar data-analysis tools
• Experience leading research projects and communicating technical findings

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with academic institutions, policy think tanks, and research partners in the region
• Advance research collaborations on country- and region-specific economic-impact questions
• Translate research insights into policy recommendations
• Develop and expand the Anthropic Economic Index with regional analysis
• Design empirical research on AI's economic effects
• Develop methods for studying labor markets, productivity, inequality, industry disruption, and aggregate economic outcomes
• Improve measurement infrastructure and data collection with technical teams
• Publish research and present findings to stakeholders
