About the Role
As a Quantitative Trading Intern at Virtu, you will work alongside senior traders on a variety of exciting and challenging projects that introduce you to all the intricacies of market making. You will spend most of your time solving trading problems as they occur in the markets and working from a menu of projects with the team. Your projects can come from a variety of trading desks such as Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Options, ETFs, Energy and more. You will take part in a company-curated global training week, receive ongoing training throughout the summer, and have several senior mentors supporting you. You will also join engaging social events to get to know the team and culture. This is a great opportunity for you to kick start a career in the financial technology space.
Requirements
- Rising junior or student expected to be ready for full time employment between December 2027 and June 2028
- Excellent academic background, hard sciences preferred (physics, chemistry, engineering, math or statistics)
- Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude
- Some programming experience required; Python, SQL, Java or C++ are a plus
- Ability to identify issues and create solutions without rigid direction
- Highly motivated and tenacious with proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team
- Team player capable of working toward collective goals
