About the Role
Gauntlet is hiring a Quant Developer to own quantitative strategies end-to-end, from research and backtesting through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and live operation. The role requires strong Python, quantitative modeling, production engineering, and risk-management skills. Deep crypto experience is not required, but curiosity about digital assets and DeFi is expected.
Requirements
- 2–8 years of experience building quantitative systems in production, such as algorithmic trading, portfolio optimization, market making, or risk systems.
- Strong Python and solid software-engineering fundamentals, including testing and code review.
- Applied skills in optimization, statistics, and simulation.
- SQL and experience building or consuming data pipelines.
- Experience debugging live systems and owning production reliability, monitoring, and recoverability.
- Clear technical communication.
- Hands-on DeFi experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Deep crypto experience is not required; curiosity about digital assets and DeFi is expected.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship vault strategies from thesis and design through implementation, simulation, deployment, and live operation.
- Optimize signals, execution, gas-aware rebalancing, liquidity, and duration management.
- Perform due diligence on protocols, collateral assets, and chains.
- Own risk parameters, exposure models, concentration limits, and automated de-risking logic.
- Build and validate adapters for lending markets, DEX aggregators, bridges, and other protocols.
- Extend monitoring and alerting systems and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Support vault and strategy launches with growth, capital markets, and client teams.
