About the Role
You will lead the technical delivery of customer engagements from scoping and discovery through implementation and handoff. You will design GitLab reference architectures, deploy and configure GitLab environments, plan migrations, provide DevOps and DevSecOps guidance, coordinate consultants and partners, and create reusable delivery documentation and enablement materials.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for leading technical discussions and communicating risks and trade-offs.
- Ability to travel up to 25% at times.
- Experience delivering at least two consulting services among source code management migration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, and CI/CD consulting.
- Enterprise software development experience.
- DevOps platform experience designing and implementing reliable, scalable systems.
- Experience deploying and managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible.
- Ability to write maintainable automation and integration code and validate changes through testing and code review.
- Experience migrating to GitLab using Congregate or similar tooling.
- Knowledge of data consistency and integrity concepts, including ACID properties.
- Problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Experience working remotely and asynchronously using documented decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, another advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver GitLab reference architecture implementations for self-managed and cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Lead source code management and CI/CD migrations to GitLab, including large-scale enterprise migrations using Congregate.
- Build repeatable delivery kits, documentation, and enablement materials.
- Lead the technical delivery lifecycle from scoping and discovery through implementation and handoff.
- Produce high-level and detailed technical designs aligned with customer requirements.
- Evaluate and communicate scalability, security, and compliance considerations in architectures and implementation plans.
- Deploy and configure GitLab in on-premises and cloud environments using Terraform, Ansible, and the GitLab Environment Toolkit.
- Plan and execute source-system migrations to GitLab using Congregate.
- Provide DevOps and DevSecOps consulting and best-practice guidance.
- Coordinate implementation work across GitLab team members, partners, and customer contacts.
- Mentor consultants through documentation, delivery kits, training materials, and enablement sessions.
- Maintain and improve delivery automation assets with testing and code-quality practices.
- Support scoping and Statement of Work creation, technical vetting, and staffing assessments.
- Review Professional Services training materials and presentations.
- Develop case studies, presentations, design documentation, and best-practice methodologies.
- Work with customer project teams to articulate required work accurately.
