About the Role
You will own hardware product readiness at partner factories from development through mass production. You will address manufacturing, test, and yield issues before builds; manage engineering changes and component qualifications; investigate failures; and work directly with manufacturing partners and leadership.
Requirements
- Carry a hardware product from early builds through mass production at a contract manufacturer or ODM
- Improve assembly and test processes and drive yield, quality, and schedule commitments
- Use DFM, FMEA, SPC, 8D, or similar manufacturing and root-cause methods
- Write product-specific test plans and assess test coverage
- Communicate with partner engineers, operations staff, and leadership
- Travel to partner sites up to 50% of the time
- Hold a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, or have equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Audit assembly and test processes and approve product transitions to mass production
- Set yield targets and confirm test coverage
- Scale manufacturing lines, sites, and manufacturers without yield or throughput regressions
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing and field failures
- Manage engineering changes, including BOM and PLM updates, validation, training, and failure monitoring
- Bring manufacturing requirements and validation data into development phase reviews
