About the Role

You will modernize and validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and simulation environments for lunar systems. You will develop navigation and control strategies, conduct trade studies, shape technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, manage mission risks, and create technical documentation and review materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field plus 15 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing, analyzing, and validating GNC algorithms for spacecraft, planetary landers, launch vehicles, or autonomous systems
  • Knowledge of non-linear dynamics, state estimation, sensor fusion, filtering, guidance algorithms, and control theory
  • Experience modernizing GNC algorithms, modeling methods, and analysis frameworks
  • Understanding of lunar and cislunar mission environments
  • Experience producing technical content for proposals, customer presentations, and reviews
  • Experience developing, decomposing, and validating mission-level and system-level GNC requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Person and eligible for required export authorizations

Responsibilities

  • Raise GNC analysis, modeling, and algorithm fidelity to industry standards
  • Advance guidance, navigation, and control algorithms
  • Modernize and expand high-fidelity simulation environments
  • Develop and validate navigation and control strategies for descent, landing, attitude control, and autonomous operations
  • Conduct trade studies of sensors, estimation approaches, trajectories, and control architectures
  • Provide senior technical leadership for lunar-system mission concepts and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with systems, avionics, software, mission analysis, and mechanical engineering stakeholders
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, proposals, and review materials
  • Mentor GNC engineers
  • Identify mission risks and propose mitigations
