About the Role
You will support the wider pricing team in analyzing, pricing and structuring large and complex insurance and reinsurance contracts across multiple lines of business. You will work closely with class underwriters to develop and enhance pricing tools, ensuring alignment with best practice methodologies, and help introduce new exposure models and improve parameterisation processes. You will conduct analyses that inform growth strategies and remediation efforts, participate in monitoring key accounts, and support performance reviews with internal stakeholders and external partners. You will also support the production of planning materials, including loss ratio setting and analysis of loss trends and inflation, and contribute to loss ratio volatility analysis for the capital model. You will identify opportunities to enhance pricing maturity, engage in peer review processes, and collaborate cross-functionally with actuarial, underwriting, and other business functions to deliver high-quality insights.
Requirements
- Newly qualified actuary with at least 3+ years of experience in London Market pricing
- Practical experience of using a range of pricing techniques particularly for Lloyd's/London Market risks
- Experience of Political Violence & Terror and/or Aviation advantageous; experience in Casualty, Marine or Energy also considered
- Experience in working with underwriters to assess and price risks using a variety of techniques
- Experience in building and enhancing exposure-based pricing tools
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Power BI and experience in a coding language (SQL, Python) desirable
