About the Role
You will own electrical design for the DC bus, inverter, motor drive, and magnetic-bearing amplifiers. You will integrate high-speed motor drives, design test-bench power and protection systems, address EMC, harmonics, and arc-flash requirements, and establish electrical safety procedures for live and stored-energy work.
Requirements
- Experience designing high-power converters or motor drives that were built and operated under real load
- Experience integrating a drive with a motor designed by another party
- Ability to diagnose EMC, harmonic, or bearing-current problems
- Experience writing and enforcing electrical safe-work practices
- Experience powering up a test cell or first-of-a-kind installation
Responsibilities
- Own electrical design for the DC bus, inverter, motor drive, and magnetic-bearing amplifiers
- Specify and integrate high-speed hermetic motor drives
- Design power and protection schemes for test benches and load banks
- Take electrical systems through EMC, harmonics, and arc-flash requirements
- Own electrical safety procedures in the test cell
