About the Role
You will develop photonic test systems and validate silicon-photonics optical interconnect products. You will create validation plans, configure lab test benches, perform electro-optic and link-level testing, troubleshoot issues, and automate test analysis and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Experience with bench test equipment for data communications and electro-optic link testing
- Experience with electro-optic link-level testing and characterization in a lab environment
- Familiarity with PCB design and debugging electro-optic circuits
- Basic scripting skills for lab-test automation, result analysis, and report generation
- Understanding of electrical and optical transmitter and receiver blocks
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug transceiver electrical and optical building blocks
- Experience with high-speed data communication systems, including NRZ and PAM4 signaling
- Familiarity with IEEE, OIF-CEI, or similar data communications standards
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar automation tools
- Documentation skills for test plans, reports, and technical presentations
- Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers in lab validation and testing workflows
Responsibilities
- Develop chip validation plans aligned with product specifications, xDVT, and interoperability testing
- Contribute to test-plan development and test-bench configuration planning
- Set up lab test equipment and troubleshoot validation setups
- Perform electro-optic and link-level testing using industry-standard practices and equipment
- Support chip bring-up, testing, and validation of optical interconnect products
