About the Role
You will operate, inspect, maintain, and repair in-service substation, distribution, and campus electrical equipment. You will perform switching operations up to 161 kV, respond to outages and faults, troubleshoot plant issues, follow safety procedures, coordinate clearances, and maintain operating records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience as a licensed electrician
- Medium-voltage electrical switching and operations experience
- Willingness to work on-site in Memphis, Tennessee
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and with medium- and high-voltage equipment
Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair substation and campus electrical equipment
- Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV
- Maintain medium- and high-voltage operating systems
- Respond to outages, faults, alarms, and call-outs
- Conduct electrical testing and assist with relay, transformer, and circuit-breaker testing
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams and switching orders
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues
- Follow lockout/tagout, grounding, clearance, and PPE procedures
- Coordinate switching and clearances during outages
- Document work, test results, and observations
- Operate company vehicles and specialized equipment
