Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.
About the Role
You will join mechanical engineers working on EPR2 component justification. You will perform finite-element analyses, develop a numerical pressure-vessel model, simulate pressure, thermal, and piping loads, and model component-support interfaces. You will evaluate mechanical stresses and design margins to help prevent excessive deformation, fatigue, and brittle fracture.
Requirements
- Engineering student at Bac+5 level specializing in solid mechanics, strength of materials, or metallic-material behavior.
- Strong knowledge of pressure-equipment mechanical design and finite-element analysis.
- Experience with SYSTUS or Code_Aster is appreciated.
- Experience with Visual Mesh is appreciated.
- Fluent French and intermediate English.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical analyses using the finite-element method.
- Develop a numerical model of pressure enclosures for heavy primary-loop components.
- Simulate pressure, thermal transient, and piping loads.
- Model interfaces and contacts between components and support systems.
- Evaluate mechanical stresses and design margins.
- Assess risks of excessive deformation, fatigue, and brittle fracture.
