About the Role
You will design humanoid-arm hardware components in 3D CAD, build and test prototypes, produce GD&T drawings, work with suppliers, inspect first articles, build test stands, and support parts on robot development platforms.
Requirements
- 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a similar field
- Expertise using 3D CAD software for complex geometry
- Experience designing and building prototypes
- Experience with simulation and analysis methodologies such as FEA and MATLAB
- Ability to write and maintain design-process documentation
- Experience with strain-wave, planetary, or cycloidal actuators
- Experience with electromechanical integration including sensors, motors, motor drivers, wire harnesses, and communication buses
- High-volume manufacturing, contract manufacturing, CATIA V6, and wire harness design experience are bonus qualifications
Responsibilities
- Design parts in 3D CAD that meet load, form-factor, and durability requirements
- Build prototypes to test assembly, range of motion, and wire routing
- Generate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Work with suppliers and order parts
- Inspect first articles, build test stands, and support parts on robot development platforms
