About the Role

You will own mechanical parts and subassemblies from concept through mass production. You will build and test prototypes, develop accelerated test plans, create production-ready drawings, work with suppliers on manufacturability and tooling, and coordinate with electrical, firmware, software, and industrial design partners.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Around 2+ years of professional design experience, or demonstrated equivalent capability
  • Experience designing parts currently in production
  • Fluency in at least one high-volume manufacturing process, including injection molding, die casting, stamping, or metal injection molding
  • Tolerance stack-up experience
  • Applied GD&T experience
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • Experience with PDM/PLM, ECOs, and quality systems
  • Experience using FEA to inform decisions
  • Ability to diagnose field failures and trace them to design decisions
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup

Responsibilities

  • Design parts and subassemblies through mass production
  • Build, test, and iterate prototypes
  • Run component-level performance, durability, and variability testing
  • Write and execute accelerated test plans
  • Release production-ready 2D drawings
  • Work with vendors and contract manufacturers on DFM, tooling reviews, and first-article inspection
  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, and industrial design disciplines
