About the Role
You will design scalable build processes for robot production. You will establish assembly lines, optimize manufacturing processes, monitor production metrics, support manufacturability and design-for-assembly practices, qualify vendors, create validation and quality-control checks, and develop assembly fixtures.
Requirements
- Manufacturing engineering experience.
- Expert knowledge of manual and automated assembly techniques.
- Experience implementing, integrating, and optimizing Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Expertise in 3D CAD software.
- Ability to specify and procure production equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Set up build lines for module-level and full robot-system assemblies.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor production metrics and KPIs and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate to incorporate manufacturability and design-for-assembly principles.
- Qualify vendors for piece-part and assembly-level manufacturing.
- Set up end-of-line design validation testing and in-process quality-control checks.
- Develop fixturing for assembly.
- Specify and procure manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Travel up to 40% of the time.
