About the Role
You will identify structural friction in software development and code-generation workflows, assess technical solutions, and test prototypes against target metrics. You will lead or work hands-on with a small team, drive validated fixes into internal adoption, document reusable learnings, and develop cases for productizing successful tools.
Requirements
- Ability to use GitLab
- Track record of identifying and shipping technical fixes for developer productivity, continuous integration and continuous delivery, or platform friction
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and build a roadmap without an existing backlog
- People management experience
- Technical depth to evaluate and prototype solutions directly
- Product judgment to assess internal tools for paying customers
- Familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted development tooling
Responsibilities
- Survey software development lifecycle and code-generation workflows to identify structural friction
- Build a data-backed view of high-leverage technical interventions
- Evaluate build, buy, and adapt options, including agentic and AI tooling
- Develop prototypes and review architecture to validate durable solutions
- Hire and manage a small team or operate as a hands-on working manager
- Drive validated fixes from prototype to internal adoption
- Build technical and business cases for productizing durable internal fixes
- Document reusable learnings from successful fixes
- Report impact through key metrics and productization progress
