About the Role
You will run day-to-day cyber security engineering operations and build operational capacity through planning, prioritization, delegation, and continuous improvement. You will mature incident-response processes, coordinate complex incidents, improve on-call readiness, lead scalable security solutions, guide detection engineering, assess operational risk, translate security gaps into solutions, and collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, product, and operations.
Requirements
- Experience leading or managing security operations security engineering incident response or technical operations teams
- Strong operational-delivery experience in prioritization planning delegation and continuous improvement
- Experience building team capacity and developing technical capabilities within a security function
- Incident-response experience coordinating complex incidents across multiple teams
- Experience with security orchestration and automation tooling and bespoke scripting automation
- Experience with SIEM systems preferably Google Chronicle and YARA-L
- Strong understanding of cloud environments preferably AWS and GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in development and incident-response contexts
- Experience deploying operating or using endpoint detection and response tools
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing teams without direct reporting lines
- Ability to communicate operational priorities technical risk and delivery trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong judgment ownership and decision-making during incidents and escalations
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation
- Experience building or leading a security operations center cyber security engineering or detection engineering function is advantageous
- Experience defining operating models roadmaps maturity plans or capability development plans is advantageous
- Experience integrating threat intelligence into security systems is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day operational activities for cyber security engineering
- Build operational capacity through planning prioritization delegation and delivery improvements
- Develop capabilities across incident response detection engineering automation and security operations
- Lead coach and support cyber security engineering professionals
- Design develop and implement incident-response playbooks
- Coordinate incident response across multidisciplinary groups
- Assess system design changes and operational risk
- Improve on-call escalation response quality handover and readiness
- Lead reliable maintainable and scalable engineered security solutions
- Guide detection engineering across enterprise and SaaS environments
- Identify security gaps risks and improvement areas and translate them into workable solutions
- Align operational priorities with the wider security vision roadmap and strategy
- Lead cross-functional projects and security improvements
- Partner with engineering infrastructure product and operations functions
