About the Role

This player-coach role leads product design across SDF products, manages and mentors another designer, maintains the design system, uses AI-assisted design and prototyping tools, partners with Product and Engineering, and validates decisions through research and usability testing.

Requirements

7+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped end-to-end work
Exceptional visual and interaction design skills
Experience managing or mentoring designers
Demonstrated use of AI tools in design work
Expert knowledge of modern design tools including Figma and Framer
Experience building and scaling design systems
Strong stakeholder communication, presentation, influence, and alignment skills
Experience with user-centered design, research, and usability testing

Responsibilities

Set and champion product design vision aligned with company goals and brand values
Lead high-impact projects with exceptional visual and interaction design craft
Manage, mentor, and grow another product designer
Maintain and scale the design system
Leverage AI design and prototyping tools to improve design quality and velocity
Partner with Product and Engineering to ship pixel-perfect, user-centered experiences
Conduct user research and usability testing
Champion user-centered design across the organization

Hiring Process

In the first 30 days, ramp on products, the design system, and roadmap; partner with PMs and engineers; and contribute to active design work. Within 90 days, own design vision for key product areas, establish team workflows including AI-assisted workflows, and support the growth of the managed designer.
