About the Role

You'll take ownership of engineering quality across the stack, working on a world-class financial products marketplace that partners with leading Financial Institutions to surface personalized financial product offers. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and fellow engineers to shape solutions and clarify tradeoffs. You'll architect full-stack, frontend-leaning systems that are small, composable, and resilient to evolving requirements. You'll leverage AI agents and assistants as force multipliers for prototyping, scaffolding, refactoring, and exploratory development, then harden the results through rigorous testing and edge-case review. You'll champion functional programming principles and immutability to keep systems simple to reason through and debug. You'll build and maintain a strong automated test suite spanning unit, integration/contract, component/UI, and end-to-end coverage with fast feedback loops in CI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience building production web applications and 2+ years as a Principal Engineer
• Expert-level proficiency with TypeScript, strong experience with React, server-side rendered Next.js (or similar), and performant component-driven development
• Deep understanding and experience with orchestration and composition of calls across multiple services
• Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders and translate product vision into technical direction
• Demonstrated development of simple, reusable, changeable systems
• Preference for functional programming and deep understanding of immutability
• Advanced knowledge of the testing pyramid and automated tests as a safety net
• Proven technical leadership through mentorship, delegation, and high-quality code reviews
• Hands-on experience with tools like Cursor or equivalent AI-augmented IDEs and modern coding models
• Practical understanding of where AI is strong vs. where it falls short

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high bar for quality through design reviews, code reviews, test strategy, and production readiness
• Partner with product, design, and fellow engineers to shape solutions and clarify tradeoffs
• Design and build full-stack frontend-leaning systems that are small, composable, and resilient to change
• Enforce architectural and operational quality and catch subtle issues in fast-moving AI-assisted development
• Champion functional programming principles and immutability
