About the Role
You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of React Native mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences for a rapidly growing user base. You'll provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and help shape the team's technical roadmap while resolving technical challenges and driving performance improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile application development for iOS and Android platforms
- Strong expertise in programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Swift, or Java
- Extensive experience with mobile development frameworks and tools such as Xcode, Android Studio, React Native, or Flutter
- Deep understanding of mobile application architecture patterns, UI/UX best practices, and performance optimization techniques
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration of mobile applications with backend services
- Expertise with Functional Programming will be a plus
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and debug complex issues in mobile applications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) would be a plus
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring mobile engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Lead the mobile engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and implement mobile application features and enhancements
- Contribute and influence the deliverables and designs of other engineering domains such as backend API interface design and QA testing methodologies
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mobile engineering team
- Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and enforce best practices and coding standards
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies
- Drive optimization and performance improvements of mobile applications
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance issues
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance
- Mentor and coach junior and senior mobile engineers
- Draft, plan and lead the mobile engineering team's technical roadmap
