About the Role
You will support the origination and execution of complex investment-banking transactions. You will develop presentations, pitch services, perform financial and valuation analyses, manage day-to-day client matters, and identify deal issues. You will review junior staff work, coach associates and analysts, contribute to recruiting and training, and ensure work complies with applicable rules, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- MBA strongly preferred.
- Prior investment banking experience required; 3+ years at Associate level strongly preferred.
- Deep analytical ability.
- Mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and senior banker expectations.
- Leadership and coaching skills.
- Ability to lead transaction processes and pitch new business with moderate senior banker oversight.
- Expertise in accounting and finance.
- Ability to travel 20 to 40%.
Responsibilities
- Assist with targeting and closing new deal opportunities.
- Participate in selling and pitching services and products to clients and prospects.
- Drive day-to-day presentation development and position advantages against competitors.
- Build and maintain relationships with client senior executives.
- Serve as the day-to-day client contact for deal-related matters.
- Direct and execute financial and valuation analyses for complex transactions.
- Develop themes for research and analytical deliverables using product, industry, finance, and accounting expertise.
- Propose approaches for due diligence, research, and analysis and address probable deal issues.
- Review analyst and associate work for consistency, correctness, and formatting.
- Resolve issues arising in transaction execution and origination.
- Streamline processes and improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train, coach, motivate, and provide feedback to associates and analysts.
- Participate in recruiting and training activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
