About the Role
You will install, rack, cable, provision, and maintain server hardware and Linux systems. You will configure networking and remote management, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, automate routine work with scripts, coordinate vendor repairs, and document procedures.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of data center, lab, or infrastructure engineering experience
- Linux system administration and network configuration skills
- Knowledge of x86 server hardware and enterprise networking
- Experience with BIOS configuration, firmware updates, and remote management tools
- Experience troubleshooting high-speed NICs and optical links
- Knowledge of VLANs, static routing, and layer 1–3 diagnostics
- Bash or Python scripting skills
- Ability to work on-site daily and lift or move server hardware
Responsibilities
- Install, rack, cable, and maintain blade servers and hardware components
- Connect servers to high-speed networks and verify links
- Configure BIOS, firmware, and out-of-band management
- Install and provision Linux systems
- Configure hostnames, IPs, routing, and NFS mount points
- Debug physical and operating-system network issues
- Automate routine tasks and diagnostics with Bash and Python
- Maintain asset and change records
- Coordinate vendor RMAs
- Document procedures and contribute to the knowledge base
- Troubleshoot and replace failed server components
