About the Role
You will develop, own, and continuously advance the risk management and compliance frameworks for the USD Fnality Payment System. You will act as the primary subject matter expert across financial, operational, technology, cyber, and regulatory risk, and ensure robust controls while enabling innovation. You will design and oversee BSA/AML and financial crime programmes, lead incident management and operational resilience activities, prepare high‑quality regulatory and Board reporting, engage directly with US regulators including the Federal Reserve, and coordinate cross‑jurisdictional risk alignment across entities.
Requirements
- Extensive senior leadership experience in risk management or compliance within FMIs banking or financial services
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a regulated environment including experience with the Federal Reserve or relevant regulators
- Proven experience engaging at Board and C‑suite level
- Strong understanding of US regulatory frameworks for FMIs including cyber operational resilience and payments regulation
- Direct experience designing and managing BSA/AML and financial crime programmes
- Experience with AML/KYC transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting
- Experience overseeing model liquidity operational and third‑party risk
- Experience working in fintech start‑ups or other high‑growth environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of wholesale payments distributed ledger technology and cyber security is preferred
- Regular engagement with US East Coast regulators and willingness to travel to the UK as necessary
- Eligibility to work in the United States (the role is Connecticut based) and no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Own risk and compliance activities for Fnality US
- Shape risk compliance and resilience strategy
- Partner with the Head of Fnality US on entity strategy and regulatory engagement
- Establish and lead US risk governance structures
- Deploy and operate the Risk Management Framework
- Oversee incident management and operational events
- Ensure compliance with cyber security technology and operational resilience requirements for FMIs
- Oversee model liquidity operational and third‑party risk
- Develop and maintain BSA/AML and financial crime frameworks
- Oversee AML/KYC standards transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting
- Advise the Board and senior leadership on financial crime and emerging risks
- Engage with the Federal Reserve and relevant US regulators
- Prepare transparent regulatory and Board reporting
- Represent Fnality US in global risk and compliance forums
- Coordinate cross‑jurisdictional risk and compliance alignment
- Manage partnership risk for new use cases such as PvP and DvP
- Contribute to Group Risk objectives and deliverables
