About the Role

You will define the methodology and qualification criteria for selecting on-chain yield strategies, lead financial and reputational due diligence on new opportunities, and set allocation and counterparty exposure limits. You will identify and monitor smart contract, liquidity, counterparty, and market risks, maintain a risk framework with clear thresholds and escalation paths, and own incident response end-to-end. You will define parameters for rebalancing, withdrawals, and vault lifecycle events, build runbooks to avoid single-person dependencies, and work with engineering to automate and audit operational processes. You will document curation rationale, present risk briefs in governance or community forums when needed, and manage relationships with counterparties, protocol teams, and strategy providers.

Requirements

  • Experience in a strategy risk or portfolio role at a DeFi protocol crypto fund or on-chain asset manager
  • Background in fixed-income portfolio management credit risk or structured products at a bank asset manager or hedge fund or experience in other asset classes
  • Hands-on familiarity with yield strategy evaluation and strategy risk assessment
  • Working knowledge of DeFi risk categories including smart contract risk liquidity risk oracle manipulation and counterparty protocol risk
  • Comfortable reading on-chain data and using tools like Dune Tenderly or similar
  • Ability to explain AMM mechanics lending market risk and LST dynamics
  • Experience building in or around DeFi such as reading code running positions or contributing to protocols
  • Master's degree in Quantitative Economics Finance Statistics Data Science Computer Science or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical foundation including model building and stress-testing assumptions
  • Clear direct communication including writing risk briefs and presenting to stakeholders
  • Ownership mindset
  • Familiarity with modern AI tooling (examples: Claude Codex)
