About the Role
You will lead and scale the end-to-end data function, defining and executing the data strategy across analytics, data modelling, metrics, experimentation, and infrastructure. You will build and develop a high-performing data organisation of around 25 people, own the KPI and metrics framework, translate business questions into analytical solutions, communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences, and improve data literacy across the organisation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data-related roles with 3+ years in senior leadership or management
- Proven experience leading and scaling data teams in startup or high-growth environments
- Deep understanding of modern data ecosystems including analytics and BI, data modelling, metrics design, and data infrastructure and pipelines
- Strong intuition for data quality, metrics, and decision support
- Ability to engage deeply in technical discussions without being hands-on day-to-day
- Strong business mindset with experience translating business goals into measurable outcomes and KPIs
- Experience in FinTech, B2C, exchanges, or financial services
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively drive strategy and execution
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a bias toward impact
Responsibilities
- Define and execute data strategy covering analytics, data modelling, metrics, experimentation, and infrastructure
- Establish data principles, standards, and best practices to ensure high data quality and reliability
- Drive the evolution of the data platform to support scale and performance
- Lead, grow, and develop a data organisation of approximately 25 people
- Build managers and senior individual contributors and foster ownership and accountability
- Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent
- Own the metrics and KPI framework and ensure consistent definitions and governance
- Translate business questions into robust analytical solutions with cross-functional partners
- Enable data-informed decision-making across all organisational levels
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and clearly communicate insights and trade-offs
- Improve data literacy and establish a shared data vocabulary
