About Somnia
Somnia is a blockchain network positioned as an 'Agentic L1', designed with a multi-stream consensus mechanism to deliver the highest throughput and lowest latency of any EVM-compatible chain. Its IceDB database enables predictable, sub-cent gas pricing at scale. The chain's architecture and Solidity extensions allow developers to build reactive applications where smart contracts can listen and automatically execute when onchain data or events change. A key feature, Somnia Agents, lets smart contracts natively query external APIs, run deterministic AI models, and scrape websites, all validated onchain—enabling use cases such as AI-resolved prediction markets and hyper-performance DeFi with full onchain order books and matching engines. Somnia serves developers and projects building consumer, DeFi, and agentic applications, and is expanding its ecosystem through integrations like LI.FI for crosschain liquidity and events like the Somnia Agentathon.

About the Role
You'll build across the breadth of what Somnia ships, from consumer-facing products to developer technologies to internal platform and tooling. One month you might be polishing an end-user app, the next you're building an SDK, a CLI, or the internal systems the rest of the team relies on. You'll own the full lifecycle of what you build, from rapid prototyping to deployment, using AI tools as a multiplier and shipping end-to-end. You'll care as much about the product as the code, working self-directed to spot gaps and propose and build what moves things forward, while collaborating with DevRel, Marketing and BD to make sure what you build lands with users and developers.
Requirements
- Strong TypeScript across the full stack
- Some Golang experience where it fits
- Ability to build high-quality, production-ready frontends
- Strong back-end engineering experience with APIs, services and the data layer behind them
- Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain products
- Strong ownership and self-direction
- Ability to prototype fast and then harden features with tests, edge cases and reliability work
- Web3 / on-chain experience such as smart contracts (Solidity/EVM), wallets, or building dApps is a plus
- Experience building developer technologies like SDKs, APIs, CLIs, or libraries and related docs and starter kits is a plus
- Strong design skills for polished product UIs is a plus
- Good grasp of the competitive landscape and what makes web3 products good is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade products end-to-end across consumer apps, developer-facing technologies and internal platform tooling
- Build the high-performance back-ends and services these products depend on
- Create developer technologies such as SDKs, APIs, CLIs, libraries and starter kits
- Build internal tooling and platform infrastructure that raises the velocity of the whole team
- Work self-directed to watch the ecosystem and the team's needs, spot gaps and propose and build what moves things forward
- Work with DevRel, Marketing and BD so what you build lands with users and developers and fits go-to-market
