About the Role
Lightning Labs is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to build Terminal Web, a TypeScript application for managing Lightning nodes, liquidity, channels, balances, swaps, and activity. The role spans product design, frontend development, API integration, data modeling, testing, and autonomous execution, with AI-native development tools used in the daily workflow.
Requirements
- Production-quality software development demonstrated through a portfolio, work history, or projects.
- Strong TypeScript and React experience.
- Comfort with modern full-stack web application architecture.
- Experience with server-side rendering, API clients, browser storage, and state management.
- Regular use of AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product requirements into working software independently.
- Strong practices in automated testing, code review, documentation, debugging, and maintainable design.
- Attention to product quality, edge cases, loading states, and failure modes.
- Excitement about Bitcoin, Lightning, and making Bitcoin cheap, fast, and simple.
Responsibilities
- Ship end-to-end Terminal Web features for operating Lightning nodes and managing liquidity and activity.
- Build across Next.js SSR, React, MobX, Emotion, IndexedDB, LNC integrations, and REST APIs.
- Own integrations with LND, litd, Lightning Node Connect, Loop, Pool, and Taproot Assets.
- Write production-quality tests with Jest and Playwright.
- Work autonomously from rough problem statements through launch.
- Use AI development tools for exploration, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation.
