About the Role
Senior accounting officer responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accuracy, control measures, intercompany accounting, and financial systems across an OTC operating entity and BVI offshore entities.
Requirements
- Active CPA.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in financial services or trading.
- Strong US GAAP skills in consolidation, intercompany, equity method, and revenue recognition.
- Experience managing multi-entity close processes including offshore structures.
- BVI or Cayman entity experience preferred.
- Digital asset accounting and ASU 2023-08 knowledge preferred.
- Python or data analysis proficiency preferred.
- Prime brokerage, OTC derivatives, or structured finance background preferred.
- Big 4 or national firm financial services experience preferred.
- ERP implementation experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare US GAAP financial statements, intercompany balances, and sub-consolidations.
- Manage revenue recognition, accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet substantiation.
- Manage intercompany transactions and elimination policies.
- Maintain books for BVI entities and coordinate with offshore counsel and registered agents.
- Apply ASC 820 and ASU 2023-08 to crypto asset fair value measurement.
- Produce management accounts, variance analysis, and board and investor packages.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and CFO analysis.
- Maintain internal controls and serve as primary external audit contact.
- Develop accounting policies and remediate control gaps.
- Build and lead a small accounting team.
- Automate reconciliations and reporting using Python or data tools.
- Partner with Technology on ERP and system enhancements.
