About the Role
You will lead and directly manage a cross-functional team of 8–12 engineers. You will partner with a Product Manager, own delivery quality, stability, timelines, dependencies, technical excellence, and architecture. You will contribute through design and coding while coaching engineers and improving team performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building server-side applications
- Knowledge of Python, Java, C#, or a similar language
- Knowledge of a backend framework such as Spring or Spring Boot
- Experience running microservices and implementing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience engineering scalable and reliable cloud-native solutions
- Experience delivering secure, well-tested, and well-documented software
- Experience integrating with third-party providers and partners
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices
- Experience leading teams
- Experience directly managing people
Responsibilities
- Lead and directly manage a cross-functional team of 8–12 engineers
- Partner with a Product Manager to form the Product Engineering Duo
- Own delivery quality, stability, timelines, and dependencies
- Own technical excellence and architecture within the team’s scope
- Drive continuous improvement in team performance measured by DORA
- Support the growth and wellbeing of engineers
- Contribute hands-on through design and coding
- Coach team members and advise on difficult problems
